What got you started with fitness?
I grew up on bmx and dirt bikes. Bikes were by far my first obsession. In high school, I started lifting with a neighbor of mine for a few months. But it wasn’t until I was a sophomore in college that I officially got bit by the iron bug. So, if you consider that my starting point, then I’ve been at it since 2005.
Greatest achievements to this point?
- Graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Industrial Engineering
- Purchasing my first home
- Co-founding a bad ass apparel company
What keeps you motivated in fitness and in life?
The challenge of it all. Success is like a drug…you get a little taste and just want more. To be successful, to win, you need to embrace change. A lot of people look at change and run. Why? Staying stagnant just sounds so damn boring. Find something your passionate about and get off your ass and do it.
What’s your workout regimen?
Its ever changing. Its easy for a workout to get stale, so I constantly change it up. I workout 5-6 days a week with a great group of guys in Mercer, PA. Everyone’s busy, so we found the mornings to work best for us at the moment. Typical day is 5-6:15am. Like I said above, we are always trying new stuff, but our go to is Mon – Chest, Tues – Back, Wed – Shoulders, Thursday – Legs, Friday – Arms.
Deadlift: 410lbs x 5 (gym)
Bench: 315lbs x 5 (gym); 225 x 26 (gym)
Squat: 315lbs x 5 (gym)
What’s your typical day?
4:05am – Wake up. Feed the dog. Pack lunch, clothes for work (gym bag), make preworkout drink and food, make post shake. Head to gym.
5:00am to 6:30am – Gym, shower and head to work.
7:00am to 4:30pm (approx) – Work
5:00pm to 9:30pm – Fourty|Eighty, dinner, gf & pup time
9:30pm – Bed
